Details
when I click "update" and install the update and restart ff I still says the same thing.

I get:

Windows Media Player 7,0,0,0 or higher is installed and enabled

Henrik thanks for this info!
I wasn't able to get Windows Media Player detection to work on Windows Vista with WMP 10. I've added the hook in. I'll look at the database now to see which plugin we should add the 11.0.6002.18065 release too.

Also can you confirm that http://pfs2.ozten.com/pfs2_json.html detects your WMP properly now?
