Build ID: 2000091212 Reproducible: Always 1. Launch N6 2. Click on the Mail icon from the Task Bar to launch Netscape Mail 3. Select Edit | Preferences 4. From the Prefrences window, select Mail and Newsgroups | Message Composition 5. From Message Composition, check the "Check spelling before sending" box 6. Click OK in the Prefrences window 7. From Mail window, click on New Message button 8. Compose a message with some incorrect words 9. Click on SEND Results: You receive a Spell Check window, however, if you exit the dialogue by clicking on CLOSE or the X in the upper right corner, the message is sent. Note: This is not how 4.x worked. 4.x had a STOP button, and allowed the user to elect to STOP the Spell Check, and go back into the message to edit (Note:This is how Spell Check performs in 6.0 when you click on the Spell button).

Please unmove this. 1. I should be able to click outside the spellcheck dialog and make additional edits (ie it should not be modal) 2. I should be able to click the stop button in the mail composition window or the cancel button in the mail send window [whichever we have] to stop the send.

Why don't we just let http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83933 sereve as the bugzilla version of this bug since it's already reopened.

Well, somehow bug 83933 failed to take over the Bugscape bug http://bugscape.netscape.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3581 . According to comments posted on bug 83933, Bugspace has some working patch that's not available to people outside of Netscape. If this is indeed the case, can somebody please attach that patch to Bugzilla as well? Thanks a lot!
Verified using branch builds 20020429 on winxp, mac os10.1 and linux. Move bug was verified and dups of moved bug were verified.
