User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5
On Internet Explorer, it is quite easy to add a search provider. I just have to go to manage search provider, add search provider, then add custom search provider.

Are you requesting a link somewhere in Firefox to something like that page? (it works fine in Firefox, by the way; they both use OpenSearch) There's plenty of other pages like that. (ex: http://www.searchplugins.net/generate.aspx) addons.mozilla.org is already linked to from the manage dialog. Might be nice if AMO just had one build in it.

I think it should be clearer like the IE page:
http://www.ieaddons.com/en/searchproviders
Look at the bottom where it says create custom serch engine...

I am going to kick this to AMO, so they can improve their way to find search providers.

What's wrong with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:4 ?

Thu wants a generator, not just a big list.
I think maybe pointing users to Mycroft's generator might be sufficient:
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/submitos.html
Currently, under "Additional Resources" on the left side of the page you noted, there's a link to Mycroft and an MDC article on the actual format. The latter probably isn't that useful to most users here, so maybe replace it with a link to the generator? If we really wanted to, a simple generator could be added to AMO itself, I guess.
OS: Windows 7 → All
Hardware: x86 → All

A search engine generator would be a pretty awesome tool. Most search engines are trivial and could be easily created by the user with some help. I would prefer that than shopping around through a dozen amazon search add-ons.
