With my latest nightly (2000092005/win32-installer) the search doesn't work with frames; it doesn't find anything in pages with frames. I think you should either make it searching all frames or call it "Find in This Frame..." if you want it to search only the frame which has the focus, but the first possibility looks easier to me.
If you click inside the frame that you want to search in, you can then search within that frame. Bug 52727 covers some of the confusing-interface problems. I don't know if there's a request for a "search in all frames" feature, but it would be nice.
I know this sounds silly but Search does not equal Find. Sending this over to XP Apps: GUI features and sairuh. Sarah, I swear this is a dupe but alas I canna find it cap'n!

niko, this does work, so perhaps what you are running into is bug 52727 as jesse had mentioned. tested using 2000.09.25.08 opt comm bits on winnt.

actually..i suppose this isn't a dup since the reporter was on a 9/20 build and it was fixed earlier than that. maybe he just wasn't clicking in the frame first? anyways, vrfy dup to cut back on spam
