This was not the case in Thunderbird 2 but is now the case in Thunderbird 3. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: mail window of the inbox should shift the focus in a way that the latest mail at the bottom of the window is in a new focus

So you are lacking the autoscroll feature, right ? Does this happens in -safe-mode (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode)?

Dear Ludovic, yes, I was able to reproduce this behavior in safe mode. I tried it twice and in both attempts with the same result. I was able to make the focus shift to the latest E-Mail by clicking on the mail notiication window on the right side of the screen. Thank You really much for your response! Greetings from bugzilla-user@web.de!

Yes, the issue is still present. Have you ever experienced the same? I don't read my email that way. You are not the only one with scroll issues.
