Since we want to use contribute.mozilla.org for our new contribute project, I'd like to move the current wiki to guides.mozilla.org.

Once we move it, we will have an update (new mediawiki + new theme matching new mozilla.org), but I'll file a bug for that after this one is done.

One question about redirects.  I'd like to be able to have the home page of contribute.mozilla.org redirect to www.mozilla.org/contribute but it may make sense to have contribute.mozilla.org/foo redirect to guides.mozilla.org/foo to make sure existing links still work.  Does that seem feasible?

I suppose this means that a new home page might need to be created for guides.mozilla.org.  Since the focus of the site is changing a bit, this might be worth doing anyway (perhaps making it a list of available guides instead of listing all areas of the community someone can contribute to).

contribute.mozilla.org has been moved to guides.mozilla.org.

David, you should ask your question in a bug related to the new contribute project. For now contribute.mozilla.org/* redirects to guides.mozilla.org/*

one nit. maybe for a separate bug. I can't log in since the switch. Is it possible that mediawiki still tries to put a cookie for contribute.mozilla.org for some reason? can you look up LocalSettings.php?

Reopening since the contribute.mozilla.org home page should be redirecting to www.mozilla.org/contribute -- everything else is fine to go to guides.mozilla.org/*

Gandalf, it works for me when I check "Remember my login on this computer", could you confirm?

Not a big deal, but I noticed that contribute.mozilla.org/index.html doesn't redirect to the same place as contribute.mozilla.org and it also brings up a missing page on the site.  I imagine most traffic is going to the redirected URL but thought it was worth mentioning.

Mary mentioned she was unable to log in to edit guides.mozilla.org so I'm copying her on this bug.  As gandalf mentioned in comment #4 not sure if it's best to discuss here or in another bug.

Hey there:  The new guides site accepts my credentials, but doesn't actually let me log in.  This seems to be new and coincide with the redirect/move.

I still have this problem. It was correlated to the redirect and I believe it to be related to cookie.

Unfortunately I cannot verify that since I don't have access to those machines.

Arzhel: can you check the settings table in DB for any entry that has website url? It may be there...

Hey guys:  I can log in ok now!  However, the redirect is still a bit funky.

For instance...

https://contribute.mozilla.org/Marketing/Firefox_3.6 leads to:  http://guides.mozilla.org/Marketing/Firefox_3.6  It drops the https and leaves me no option to log in.  It looks like an old school mozilla.org page.

Wondering if other people will encounter this!
