Recently I get more and more spam which requests reading confirmations. Just choosing the message in the 3-pane-window brings up the modal window to force me to choose if I want to send a confirmation or not. This can be pretty annoying. Would it make sense to change the user interface away from a modal popup?
iirc That would be return receipts which would make this a duplicate of bug 221615.
