Similar to bug 539318 but for the install service. Not sure how it should look though.. Currently we're using this for public AMO releases: https://addons.mozilla.org/services/install.php?addon_id=weave Maybe &beta=1 ? or just &beta or maybe better for the future.. &channel=beta ?
Not sure I'm comfortable with making unreviewed betas *that* available. Betas are intentionally harder to get to.
I suppose that's true. Right now we link to the install service and a separately hosted .xpi for our own "dev" channel, and the main difference is that the "dev" channel shows the notification bar in Firefox. If bug 539318 gets implemented, it'll be the same experience, except that we can stop separately hosting our "dev" channel. So it might be better to keep that extra notification for the beta/dev versions. ?
