Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20100107 Fedora/3.5.6-1.fc12 Firefox/3.5.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091209 Fedora/3.0-4.fc12 Thunderbird/3.0

I connect to a newsgroup using a secure connection with the default port. This newsgroup has a self-signed certificate. When I go to view any listing on the newsgroup I am prompted that the certificate is self-signed and that I can either view the certificate or I can cancel. There is no prompt (as in Firefox or when connecting to mail servers) to allow an exemption for the newsgroup.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect to a secure newsgroup that has a self-signed certificate using the default port
2. Right click on the newsgroup under the "all folders" view and click Subscribe.
3. Click any listing on the newsgroup
Actual Results:
You will be prompted that the certificate is invalid because it is self-signed and your only options in the window will be to "view certificate" or cancel.

Expected Results:
Thunderbird should have prompted me with the default window to get the certificate from the server and allow an exception for this server.

I even tried this with the latest nightly build of Thunderbird (3.2pre1) and this was still a problem. I also attempted this in Thunderbird 2.0 and it worked the way it should.
