Details

(Whiteboard: [has protocol log])

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100111 Thunderbird/3.0.1

Using test build of 3.0.1, which should have the fix for bug 524902. However, I still see the symptoms: at (what appear to be random to me) times, I will enter an IMAP folder, and various messages which were marked as read will now appear as unread. The actual count of said messages will vary, as will which messages they are (i.e., not a sequential group, scattered about).

Only the Thunderbird client appears to have the incorrect status, since if I do a "Properties -> Rebuild Index" on the folder, the messages will then have the correct status (and the folder the correct count). However, that same folder can have a repeat of the problem at a later time.

I have collected an IMAP:5 log and will email it to bienvenu. During the log, the folder Lists/nanog changed its unread count to 2145; after rebuilding the index, it dropped to the correct value of 1506.

Some possibly relevant config info:

IMAP Server: dovecot, IDLE is supported and enabled on thunderbird
Cached Connections: 8
Delete Messages: move to IMAP Trash
Login: Secure Authentication via GSSAPI/Kerberos
Global Search and Index: disabled
Message Filters: many, moving messages to several IMAP folders. Marks some read, most stay unread.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Whiteboard: [has protocol log]
Version: unspecified → 3.0
Additional config info: condstore setting is default (enabled).
Bienvenu says it's a dup. Phil sorry for the trouble.
