all replies that are written in German do NOT 'translate' the umlauts, like Ü, ö, ü, etc. correctly.

hgoerz could explain better your problem? Could attach here for us a screenshot or an email testcase using above "Add an attachment" link?

I don't understand well your problem: maybe umlauts aren't right encoded in your inbox folder? If your problem is this, try with this: select inbox folder (or folder that has wrong umlauts decoded) and click on right mouse button to show context menu. Then select properties item and in properties window uncheck option "Apply default to all message to all messages in the folder..."
