Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Upon selecting a url link in a Thunderbird 3 message, while firefox has already been initiated, firefox resumes but does not open a previously docked window. When the docked firefox window is manually opened, the desired link is the selected tab. In previous releases of firefox 3, the preferred action was taken, i.e. to open the currently docked window with the selected link in a new tab (according to Preferences setting). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start firefox 2. Dock the firefox window 3. Start Thunderbird 3 4. Select a message with a url link and click the link Actual Results: firefox becomes the foreground program, with no open window. Expected Results: firefox opens the docked window with the selected url in a new tab (as set by Preferences)
I believe this behaviour started in firefox 3.6
This may be the same issue as Bug 525759 which is supposed to be fixed by the patch in Bug 516027.
I tested for Bug 525759 and did not find its behavior: 1. Start firefox 3.6 2. Open the Tools>Downloads window 3. Iconize 4. Set in focus by selecting Window>Downloads Success.
(In reply to comment #3) > I tested for Bug 525759 and did not find its behavior: > > 1. Start firefox 3.6 > 2. Open the Tools>Downloads window > 3. Iconize > 4. Set in focus by selecting Window>Downloads > > Success. I mistook this bug for another being discussed. After looking at Bug 525759 the behavior described seems identical to my description. Sorry about that!
