We're actually surprisingly close to releasing 3.6rc1. There are very few blockers left. The most important thing remaining to do is to write the release notes.

There are also enough fixes on the 3.4.x branch that I think it would be worthwhile to do a 3.4.x release.

Everything that's currently marked as a 3.4.6 blocker isn't actually a 3.4.6 blocker, it's just something that we want to address on the 3.4 branch.
