The user can mark a paragraph, sentence or part of a word and then drag and drop it to another location.

This doesn't work when only a single character is selected. Clicking and holding on it just removes the selection.

It may seem unneccessary to drag&drop and single character but when copying foreign characters, japanese or chinese for example, it is useful.

Also of course keyboard-shortcuts could be used, but for many users mouse is easier to remember and since the drag&drop is there anyway it should work with single characters as well.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a single character on a website
2. Try to drag & drop it
Actual Results:  
The selection gets removed.

Expected Results:  
Being able to drag and drop the selected character.

Interestingly bug 307633 comes to the rescue here - I can drag a single character but only from the left half of the following one!

This is probably same as bug 307663 as you can't drag from the left half of the first character in a selection but can drag from left half of character after the last one.

Seems likely, yeah.  This worksforme on mac, for what it's worth.

3. Attempts to drag only work for right half of highlighted character and left half of last character (Approximately the black rectangles)

Interestingly it depends on the character's size how far to the left on the selection you have to start dragging for it to work.

You can't click anywhere in the left half (black box) of the middle character as it was possible with font-sizes like 200px.
