I enter data into the integrated search bar (on the right) and hit enter or the search icon and it will not work. I can enter data but, it will not perform a search.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Please run Firefox in Safe Mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) and check if it still happens without any extensions activated.

I have the same bug. I think it appeared when I updated to FF 3.6, although I can't be sure. I tried safe mode, and the search box still doesn't work. I also tried deleting the prefs.js and search.sqlite files, and it didn't help.

I use an unconventional setup which might have caused corruption of some configuration files: I have a computer at home and another one at work. Both profiles.ini files point to a profile on a USB disk which I use both at home and at work. Occasionally, I forget to close Firefox before removing the disk.

I have been able to find the cause of the problem, in my case. I deleted the 'formhistory.sqlite-journal' file, and now the search bar works again. So it seems that it really was just a corrupted configuration file, in my case.

Do you have a backup of that file around? Would be helpful for us to identify that problem.

I have the same bug except it is in the nightly version of firefox on the mac.

Brian, if you have Weave installed you are seeing bug 568256.

Reporter, can you please give us more information?

The bug is that the when I press enter the search bar doesn't preform a search.

Brian, please check my statement which is for you from comment 6. You are not the reporter of this bug and I'm sure you are seing bug 568256.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.x or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
