I have just updated to Thunderbird 3.0.2 under Ubuntu 9.10
I can  now NOT save any changes to the Account junk settings. The error console
produces the message:

    Error: uncaught exception: unable to find folder to select!

I can not turn off or change any junk settings.  Junk seems to be the only
settings affected.

I am collecting email from several email accounts.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Change an Account Junk setting.
2.Click OK
3.Open Account settings - Junk setting not changed Error console shows :uncaught exception: unable to find folder to select!" 
Actual Results:  
No change to junk settings

Expected Results:  
Junk settings should be setable !
I tried safe mode and it makes no difference. Non of the Junk setting changes stick.

One other thing - the Junk setting is ON for 

'Move new Junk messages to:'
Junk Folded on: 

But the folder selection box is blank. I can select folders but the selection does not stick.

Also, the error in the Console "Error: uncaught exception: unable to find folder to select!"  occurs when I select the Junk options panel NOT when I attempt to change an option. So the dialog crashes at the startup of the dialog not on any other user action.

This is still a problem in version 3.0.4

Did this worked for you in v3.0, 3.0.1 or any v3 beta or alpha builds?

No, This problem started with the first Version 3 release and has not changed with 3.0.1-4


I have not tried beta of alpha builds. Do recommend any ?

I just tried Thunderbird 3.1 Release Candidate 2
The error is still the same - attempts to set the Account junk settings produce error console message:

    Error: uncaught exception: unable to find folder to select!

and no setting is make.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → RESOLVED
Closed: 14 years ago
Resolution: --- → DUPLICATE
Version: unspecified → 3.0
The bug is still in TB 8.0! :-(
Then try out TB 13, bug 472959 is fixed there.
