Build Identifier:
(Feature request) On Thunderbird exit any more messages than the specified amount (300 for example) would be deleted, oldest first. Currently there is an options to limit the number of messages, but there should be an option to apply this to only the trash folder.
Reproducible: Always

This was actually implemented as part of bug 11055.
To enable this:
1. Right-click the trash folder for the account
2. Choose Properties from the context menu
3. Click the Retention Policy tab in the properties dialog
4. Uncheck Use my account settings and make the appropriate changes
Note that your account settings in this case should stay on Don't delete any messages.
Hope this helps!
