We don't have UI to do this right now right?
No, we don't even have an UI to cancel the installation (except for the installation dialog). So don't really know what this bug is about.

Actually, we do - the little buttons in either side of the download progress bar in the addons manager (pause and stop). They're just not very obvious thanks to bug 553482.
