User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 Thunderbird/3.0.4 when replying to or forwarding an email the resulting body panel appears blank. If on forwarding the message the spell checker will go to work and will pick up errors in spelling. This indicates to me that the window/screen in question is not redrawing as it should. The message is received at the other end intact. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.changed user accounts 2.Forwarded message 3.restarted computer Actual Results: The same as described in "Detail" Expected Results: After restarting the computer would have expected this problem to disappear. I have been using Thunderbird for several years. 2 weeks ago upgraded to the latest version and all went well until this morning when the blank body window started so updated to the current version with the same problems.
LB, Does this happen with one particular email, or with all.
Joe, Happens on all emails and another bug has occurred when attempting to write emails the body will not except the cursor so when inputing text into the email body there is no text showing. On sending the email to my own email address (different from the one I am sending from) I can read what I have written in the email body. The From, To and Subject fields can receive input ok. I can not see the text in body of email when writing from approximately 6 different accounts. The computer and program have been shut down several times in an attempt to fix problem. Also mail boxes have been compacted.
Please check your tesxt color and background settings in Tools>>Options>>Composition>>General
Joe, that was one of the first things that I checked. The cursor is not appearing in the body of the emails which to me indicates that the window in question is not getting focus or redrawing.
Take a look at bug 525359 To see if it applies in your case.
Joe you're right with that, it is the same X-Mailer: IncrediMail. Your work around with the Shift/Reply works ok with the original email but if you go another email which has the X-Mailer: IncrediMail then you once again cannot see the text in any replies to other emails. If you do the Shift/Reply then close the window and then just do the normal Reply then you are once again back to normal. Very annoying hope its fixed soon. Thanks for your help
Thanks for testing
