It seems there is a hardcoded string ("Filter message by:") in the checked in patch for quick search filtering (Bug 545955).

STR:
- Type in something in the quick filter input box
- Press Enter
The string "Filter message by:" comes up with the buttons for sender, recipients, subject and message body.
In quickFilterBar.xul is the following line:

 <label id="qfb-qs-label" value="Filter message by:"/>
Yes, it would appear that this string resisted the l10n assimilation of the other strings. Very hardy, it.

Thanks for filing this!
