I run Thunderbird/Lightning without admin right. Seems like this causes the problem. Running it - with a different profile of course - as admin does not show that behavior. Background information. I have copied the profile from a old computer (XP) to the new one as well. Then I switched the profile directory afterwords. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1ctrl-I (or rightclick in the calender view and add new task) 2. 3. Expected Results: window for editing the task or appointment shows up no window showing up.
Please check if your settings in Tools > Options > Lightning > Alarms > Default Alarm are valid and save them again.
Heinz, does it work after performing the steps from comment 1?
It does work now. The last two entries, where you have to provide a time haven't had a unit (hour/minute...). The field was empty. Thanks for your help.
