Hi Frank: some questions for you. 1. what is sort order in messages list (newest to oldest or viceversa)? 2. do you use imap or pop3? 3. your messages list is sort by thread? In this deletion cause a compact folder operation?
Thanks for your response. In answer to your questions: 1. The sort order puts the most recent at the top of the list. 2. It is an imap account 3. The list is not sorted by thread, it is just a straight time ordered list. I will watch to see if the deletion causes a compact folder operation. Now that I know to look for it I will do so and respond when I have an answer. Thanks for your help and for the efforts you and your collaborators have made to make Thunderbird my first, and only choice, for a mail tool. Regards, Frank
Could be the same issue of bug #479064: what do you think Frank?
It is certainly similar and I see some of the other unexpected behaviors as well. I suspect that if you fix them mine will be collateral benefit. If you wish to mark this as a duplicate that is fine with me. Thanks for your diligence. I searched for a while and missed that one. Regards, Frank
