Check for any recent crash reports. They can be found by typing about:crashes in the address bar.
I experience the same behaviour here on several machines using win XP with FF 3.6.2 and 3.6.3.
I cannot reproduce it with a 3.5.8pre build

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8pre) Gecko/20091231 Shiretoko/3.5.8pre (.NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Yes but the most helpful info would be the crash reports as described in comments 1 and 2. Additionally the exact version of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat.
Crashreport:
bp-e8f56eb7-d830-4f47-af33-29b6e2100616

Adobe Acrobat version: 7.0.8.218
The crashing machine has win XP installed.
I cannot reproduce this on Win7 with any firefox version (tested a lot) and Adobe Acrobat Version: 9.3.2.163
I will try to test more Firefox versions on the crashing XP machine and try to update to a more recent Adobe Acrobat version later.
Crash with Adobe Acrobat Version: 8.0.0.456
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100316 Firefox/3.6.2

Updated the Plugin to Version: 9.3.0.148 and cannot reproduce the error anymore in Firefox 3.6.3
Component: Extension Compatibility → PDF (Adobe)
Product: Firefox → Plugins
QA Contact: extension.compatibility → adobe-reader
Version: 3.6 Branch → 7.x
Works for me then with an up to date Adobe Reader.
