Using overflow-x:hidden and overflow-y:auto (buggy example below) and clicking the vertical scroll bar (or the arrows), the area will reset to left alignment (scrollLeft = 0), however using the MouseWheel will work perfectly.

Added to http://1ntt.com/firefoxbug.htm is a 3rd case where the vertical scroll bar will reset scrollTop to 0

Additional using the screen Zoom In & Out will also provoke the resetting of scrollLeft/scrollTop to 0 (when only one of the two scroll bars are in use).

Roc, if it's something simple would it be possible to acknowledge this bug and schedule a fix for it?

I noticed it's been pending since 2007 (Linux/PC/Mac), I found a previous entrance for this issue:

Dan, the bug _has_ been acknowledged.  I did that when I changed the status from UNCONFIRMED.

Scheduling is tougher; there's no one available at the moment with free time.  I've added it to my (very long) todo list, but as I said it's a long list.

Thanks for finding the older bug!  Marking duplicate of that, since it has an attached standalone testcase.
