571335 - Title Bar in Message Filters will not accept column width change

The bar that holds "Filter Name" and "Enabled" is stuck at a very wide width. I have to enlarge window to see "Enabled" and then can not move the vertical bar to its left to make the "Filter Name" column narrower.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Tools > Message Filters
2. Look at width of the internal window with "Filter Name" and "Enabled" across it.
3. Try to move the column separator vertical line


Expected Results:  
Column should be resizable. I will try to attach screen shot.

Default theme. Mac Pro 10.6.3 10GB RAM

Have you tried safe mode? (see https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode for more information)

I tried safe mode. All it did was create duplicate lists of folders and accounts. Why would column width in Message Filters be an issue of safe mode?

Safe-mode get rids of themes and extensions - ruling them out is a good thing.

Yes, the Enabled column is not resizable, however the Name column should not be stuck at a very wide width. It should only take the space like this: dialog width - width of Enabled column.

Is this still a problem in your installation? Have you tried a current TB 17?

Wow, I had forgotten all about this. I am currently using TB 17.0.6

The column is still stuck at a very wide width, but it retains the horizontally widened shape I needed 3 years ago.

I am attaching a screen shot. The code obviously is paying no attention to the width of the actual filter name.

Well, I do not see a way to attach/upload the screen shot.

I made it as narrow as I could, then decided to make it as vertically short as I could. But not because I misunderstood your request.

Interestingly enough, when I first dragged it narrower, the Enabled column winked out. That was when I decided to reduce it vertically, too, and the column re-displayed.

I am assuming now that the problem got solved somewhere along the way since 6-10-2010.
