Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.3a6pre) Gecko/20100612 Lightning/1.1a1pre SeaMonkey/2.1a2pre - Build ID: 20100613050506
With Lightning comm-central nightly dated 2010-06-13
Yesterday I was still using SeaMonkey 2.1a1pre (dated 2010-05-10, with the "old" addons manager) and didn't see this problem, so I'm tentatively attributing the problem to the change of addons manager.
Displaying Lightning in a tab, the events grid appears empty. It is a multiweek-like grid (which is my default) but "Day" is highlighted at right, between the grid and (above it) the events list, which is also empty (though the drop-down still says "All future events"). If I click other display modes (Week, Month, Day, Multiweek) the display doesn't change at all (and the empty grid still displays the "multiweek" layout). All squares have a uniform white background (and no foreground text) — no blue-background square ("today") and no orange-background square ("selected").
No bold dates either in the small calendar in the left sidebar.
In the "Events and Tasks" menu, everything is greyed-out except "Calendar" and "Tasks". In the "Edit" menu, "Calendar Properties" is also greyed-out, even though I have a calendar selected.
Lightning displays my calendars in the calendars list, with their respective colours and checkmarks, but AFAICT it doesn't see their contents.
My calendars (which are all ICS files, either under my home directory or on the web, but not in my profile) have not been damaged: I can still display all my events with the following Sunbird build:
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.11pre) Gecko/20100526 Calendar/1.0b2pre
Build ID: 20100526025912
I thought it might perhaps be theme related, but no change after switching to default theme.
Don't know if this is another symptom of the same problem or a different bug: instead of "Calendar", the tab has an icon (in the default theme) but no title text. If I open the right sidebar, it has at top "Jan 5555, CW 55" (but the drop-down displays a little calendar for the current month — June 2010 — identical to that in the left sidebar).
After reporting this bug, I'll try to see if disabling other addons makes a difference. (Of course, Lightning doesn't work in Safe Mode.)

Even with all addons disabled except Lightning and gdata-provider, still no change.

P.S. I'm tempted to set the "dogfood" keyword, except that I'm no Mozilla developer.
