This is similar to Bug 547486 but applies to Thunderbird in all platforms.
(In reply to comment #0) > This is similar to Bug 547486 but applies to Thunderbird in all platforms. so why a new bug and not just change that bug to All/All ?
Because that bug is about Camino, not Thunderbird. And changing that bug without knowledge about MacOS or Camino is acting like vandalizing other's work. So I prefer I separate bug.
thunderbird RFE are typically left unconfirmed in bugzilla unless there is strong demand or developer desire to have it fixed. so => unco

Summary: RFE: Display "Offline" in windows title when Thunderbird is working offline → Display "Offline" status in program window's title bar when Thunderbird is working offline
This bug needs more details: - Which exact string should be added, and where within the title? - For which tabs/windows: All or excluding some tab/window types? My suggestion: - proposed string & position: Add " (Offline)" at the end of current title - tabs: As long as "work offline" is not account-specific (bug 312619), add offline status in window title regardless of which type of tab is displayed (because even when user is reading something specific e.g. a mail message, he should be made aware that he's not currently receiving new messages) - compose window: not sure... TB changes "Send" button to "Send later" when offline, so some indication is given, but it's not explicit. Not sure why the compose window isn't branded: "Mozilla Thunderbird" string is absent. So currently we just display "Write: Full Subject", where it doesn't seem ideal to just add " (Offline)" to that. Same RFE is currently confirmed ("NEW") for the following products: - SeaMonkey: bug 574666 - Firefox: bug 574653 - Camino: Bug 547486 Given that, and with a bit more detail (as provided in this comment), I think this is ready to be confirmed for Thunderbird, too.
It would be nice if the word "Offline" is at the beginning of the string so it's very visible. It would also be nice that compose window's title also has the word (that's why the previous title of the bug used "windows" in plural form)
