User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; en-US; rv:2.0b2pre) Gecko/20100701 Minefield/4.0b2pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; en-US; rv:2.0b2pre) Gecko/20100701 Minefield/4.0b2pre
Dragging a link such as this one from the page to the tabs bar to open a new tab shows the arrow where it will go, then no tab shows up - the arrow remains for a little while and still no new tab.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a page that has links on it.
2. Click and hold down the mouse button to drag it.
3. Drag the link to the tab bar to create a new tab.
Actual Results:
An electric blue arrow pointing down where the tab would go appears - no new tab though.
Expected Results:
The arrow should appear, the new tab should be created, the arrow should disappear.

Getting this or similar on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0b4pre) Gecko/20100812 Minefield/4.0b4pre ID:20100812040939
I can only get the arrow when dragging over the + tab or empty space after it, hovering over others tabs activates them and if the mouse button is released the existing tab navigates to the dragged link URL.
Dragging to the bookmarks toolbar seems to work fine.
I have "Tabs on Top" disabled

And with "tabs on top" enabled the empty space doesn't accept any links.

It works if you insert it between tabs. I think this is a dupe anyway of one of the older d&d bugs about tabs.

I'm also sure this is a dupe. But I can't find the right bug now. So lets ask for blocking because this is a major regression. Dao, or have you the right bug # handy?

In the 4.0 betas you only see the blue arrow and the functionality is only there if you drag to the right of the last tab open. You cannot drag to any other position before the first tab or between any other tabs. You can drag existing tabs to these locations with the little blue arrow appearing normally.
