User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100710 Gentoo Namoroka/3.6.4
Build Identifier: 3.1
The new Thunderbird application icon is completely useless because it fails to be a unique, easily recognizable graphic to represent the application on menus and window lists.
The icon appears to be designed only for viewing at 256x256 resolution, yet most locations where it's used are likely using 32x32 and below. When reduced to these sizes, the very light colors are not clear and the icon simply appears as an almost-white circle
Reproducible: Always
Actual Results:
Icon is basically a white circle
Expected Results:
Icon is an easily recognizable, easily distinguished graphic that makes quickly picking out Thunderbird from a menu, icon list or window list really easy.
Running mail-client/thunderbird-3.1 on Gentoo Linux.
Use flags: USE="alsa bindist crypt -custom-optimization dbus -gnome -ldap libnotify lightning -mozdom startup-notification -system-sqlite -wifi"

Do you have a screenshot so I can compare with my own system?

Oh, that's the Thunderbird unstable icon for the Lanikai series (up to 3.1).
3.1 stable is now out, so I'll mark this as Wontfix
