We need some way to identify ourselves and to create awesome t-shirts and stuff. We're also thinking about adding the badge to user profiles on AMO and maybe other places. I'll see if the Spread Firefox community can help us. I know there are a number of really good graphic designers there.
I personally like the idea of a shield, maybe with the green add-on icon on top. I think this conveys the idea that we're the protectors of users from threats and bugs.
I think adding the badge to the user profile is a great idea. We already do it for authors and persona designers.
Thank you Jorge for filing this! Another idea of items that could be part of the logo would be - an eye for review - a magnifying class in front of something that looks like code
Here's a dumb idea: the bat-signal!
- a wizard's wand.
Mozilla Dragon with a Sherlock Holmes outfit? Or simpler, Dragon + Pencil.

Just one little proof of concept based on the Crystal SVG Dragon
another idea, extension icon scrutinized by a looking glass
Hey design intern!

(In reply to comment #11) > Created attachment 459040 [details] > sketches Nice. My favourite two are: - puzzle face holding shield (top, 2nd from left) - add-on signal (bottom right) ... though the first is more representative because it implies prevention, while the latter implies coming to the rescue after.

After an initial round of votes in the amo-editors list, the top contenders for the AMO logo are the Bat-signal, followed by the Looking Glass. We need someone to polish both of these designs (to give them both a fair shot) for a final round of votes for the final logo. Alex, do you think you can help us with this?
Actually, need a third one with the shield concept. There were several votes that were divided between the standalone shield and the character with the shield. Whoever works on it has creative freedom to base it on either on those sketches.
Alex doesn't have access to her bugmail anymore and we are out of design interns.
Target Milestone: 5.12 → Future
We still want this in the short term, so I'd like to keep it on my radar. I can ask the spreadfirefox community, they used to have many good graphic designers.
Target Milestone: Future → 5.12.1
Created a project on SFX. Let's see if there's a response. Otherwise I'll look for other avenues for this.
Target Milestone: 5.12.1 → Q4 2010

I left some comments on the SFx group, but no replies. Also, isn't this better for the creative collective than SFx?
Moving this to Q1 2011.
Target Milestone: Q4 2010 → Q1 2011
Priority: P2 → P3
Moving this again. My attention has been focused elsewhere, but I hope to spend some time on this soon.
Target Milestone: Q1 2011 → Q2 2011

Closing this bug in favor of bug 720839. Because of the changes that are coming to the add-ons site, which will better integrate Personas and will also include Apps, we are revamping our reviewer program so that it includes Personas and App reviewers. This means that the 3 teams will have logos that have some commonality, and may or may not follow the suggestions that we have already given. We expect the logos to be done sometime in Q1, so the good news is that we'll have a logo pretty soon :)

Can we have access to that bug, please, or is it super secret?
There's nothing particularly interesting going on in that bug at the moment, but I'll keep you up to date with any news. I'm not sure if the design people are ok with including more people in their internal bugs, so I'd rather not add anyone to that discussion.
