RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 581791

People

(Reporter: athomps, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b3pre) Gecko/20100801 Minefield/4.0b3pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b3pre) Gecko/20100801 Minefield/4.0b3pre

Minefield crashed, and when it came back the TabCandy icon was missing.

If there was a menu method to invoke TabCandy then I could restore it.

As of right now I'm in a world of hurt because I have 60+ tabs open in *one window* and no way to organize them :( :( :(

(Another bug said that control/command-E would invoke TabCandy, but that did not work for me.)

I looked under Tools->Add Ons and could not find anything about TabCandy there either.

I've already tried quitting Minefield and then restarting it, as well as just opening a new window, and still no TabCandy. I have no idea why it disappeared or how to get it back :(

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Since this happened as a result of a Minefield crash, I can't tell you how to reproduce it. But my request is that there be a menu way to invoke TabCandy so I guess it's more of a feature request than a bug report per se.
Do you have the "TabView" menu item in the View menu?

If yes, you can that menu item or ctrl+space to go to the tab view interface. Otherwise, you build might have been auto-updated and tab view doesn't exist in your build anymore, see bug 581791.
Ray, that's probably what happened, because the crash and restart would then run the auto-updated version.

As long as there is a menu item, then this is fixed (or dupe with the bug you mentioned).

I went to Aza's page, then downloaded the latest Minefield (8/2), and ran that instead, and TabCandy appeared again. I had to re-group all my tabs (they all opened in one window) but at least TC is back. Thanks!

(And I see the menu item now that TC is back for me, too.)

I'm going to mark this is Resolved, and if you want to move it to Dupe go for it.
