These 1.83ghz core2duo minis currently have 1gb of ram (2x512mb). We need to upgrade these to the max.

According to http://forums.macnn.com/58/imac-emac-and-mac-mini/380349/a-guide-mac-mini-ram-upgrades/, the "max" for these Core2Duo macs is 3gb. It is possible to install balanced 4gb if that is cheaper, but the chipset will only recognize 3gb.

Also, see model and price info at: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/mac_mini/intel

Note: there are 81 identical minis to upgrade.

Sean - can you handle this?

So we need 162 2gb dimms?

That would give us balanced 4gb per mini, yes, which is a slight perf gain over a (unbalanced) 3gb per mini. See comment#0 for details. If the price difference is negligible, lets just do 4gb, every little perf win is good.
Picked up 10 3GB upgrade kits from OWC for overnight. Will test and then order the rest.

Tests on 2 staging 10.6 builders went fine; lets get the remaining 71 sets of 3gb upgrade kits.
Ordered.

try-mac64-slave20 now back into production. Thanks for all the hard work cracking open the minis and upgrading them.
We have 10 extra ram upgrade kits, because it turns out we have no slave30-39. I've filed bug#589244 to track upgrading some 10.5 builders.
