I'm trying to install Thunderbird addons (e.g. http://mozillalabs.com/contacts/ ), downloaded xpi file to disk, opened add-ons window in TB and doing drag&drop (as in previous TB versions) - not working.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download addon from http://mozillalabs.com/contacts/
2. Drag & drop addon file to add-ons window in TB
3. Nothing happens
Actual Results:  
Cannot install addon

Expected Results:  
Install addon

This WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; rv:2.0b4pre) Gecko/20100807 Shredder/3.2a1pre. Can you try with a more recent nightly ?

Anything in Tools -> error console when this happens ?

I found out why it happened - problem was that this addon was not compatible with latest TB (it linked to old version of contacts).

So question: can there be some window shown to user that the addon is not compatible? Currently (checked in FF nightly) nothing happens - no information about plugin validation error (even in log) is shown.
