New Account Wizard does not permit POP account. My ISP account is POP and Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 offers choice of POP or IMAP in ACCOUNT SETUP. When T-bird 3.1.2 sets up new account, if forces me to IMAP and then tests my password. It then tells me my password is incorrect. I have gone back to Thunderbird 2, reluctantly until this bug is fixed.
I tried installing Thunderbird 2 and upgrading to version 3. It accepted my correct account settings from Version 2. I could do that but what happens if I want to add a second or third account? I am eagerly awaiting news that NEW ACCOUNT SETUP works properly in THUNDERBIRD 3. I don't care if it is automatic or manual but I want assurance that it will work before I upgrade again. I am not a programmer or developer so someone else will have to fix it.
I am looking forward to a resolution SOON.
I tried to start MS OUTLOOK (2003) to set up account and then import to Thunderbird but the IMAP dll file was stuffed up, I now understand by T-bird installation. That does not worry me so much as I would rather use Thunderbird anyway.
