I opened a message that crashed thunderbird, when I restarted all my tabs were lost and the default three pain view was back in place. I normally use a two pain view, without the message preview piece.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a message that crashes thunderbird
2. restart app
3. tabs lost and default views reinstated
Actual Results:  
tabs lost and default view reinstated

Expected Results:  
tabs to still be there and custom view

It's close to 556682 , but something different (a closed bug about session restore).

Session restore applied to TB is bug #459096. 
According to bug #459096 comment #1 probably this is a dupe of bug #449967.
