My 13-year-old version of Eudora has a Redirect capability. If I redirect an E-mail message, the message appears not quoted but as sent. The Subject line also appears without a Re: or Fwd: (unless that was in the original message). The From: line shows the original sender's address followed with "by way of [my address]" in parentheses.
Thus, when I redirect an E-mail message, my recipient sees the message the way I saw it when I received it. However, (1) I can edit the message, inserting, changing, or deleting content; and (2) my recipient sees both the original sender and me in the From: line.
I am requesting this capability in Thunderbird.
Reproducible: Always
This is NOT the same as forwarding inline. Forwarding inline shows the original message appended to a new message with Fwd: inserted into the Subject: line and only my address in the From: line.
