Details

Hello! When an e-mail message is saved locally (as a .eml file), it can be viewed by Thunderbird alright. However, trying to delete attachments from it is not working. One gets the proper warning about the deletion being irreversible, but nothing happens afterwards. The .eml file on disk is never modified...
Confirming, that the problem is still here with the new Thunderbird-3.1.3
Summary: Unable to delete attachments from a locally-saved messages (.eml file) → Unable to delete attachments from locally-saved messages (.eml files)
(In reply to comment #1) > Confirming, that the problem is still here with the new Thunderbird-3.1.3 Thanks, but if the bug hasn't been marked as fixed, then it is unlikely to have been fixed - we only need a comment if it has gone away.
I would think this is by design - it would not be normal workflow to try to delete an attachment from a message that is not part of Thunderbird's message store. So the questions are: 1. is it reasonable to do this, and do we want to allow this? 2. if not, the UI should be changed to disallow. 3. if yes, then this becomes an enhancement request IMO
