I imported my bookmarks from Netscape 4.76 and there was a folder that had an arrow pointing the right meaning that there are more bookmarks, but the menu that contains those bookmarks appears at the top of the screen, not right next to the arrow. Some bookmark menu is in the wrong place and some bookmarks are off screen. Build ID: 2000111208
It will appear at the top of the screen to try and fit more on if the bookmarks are very long. (I take it you mean the Bookmarks item in the menu bar.) Could you please attach your bookmarks.html file and tell us which item you have a problem with? Gerv
Mike: Do you still see a problem in this way with the latest builds? I can't see any problems.. WFM ... Mike, if you do still see the problem can you grab a screenshot and submit that? Thanks
Attached image Menu appears by sidebar
Mike.. looked at your attachment.. am I missing something.. did it lose soemthing in the taking of the image?? Or is it just late and I'm tired?
No, it didn't lose anything.
Ahh.. well when you wrote 'sidebar' I thought you meant all the way to the left of the picture... I think the problem is that there are too manyt bookmarks, so it isn't going to line up the top of the next section with the arrow.. but this isn't a bug, it's how it is supposed to be (I think) However you said not all the bookmarks appeared I take it that some were lost at top and bottom and it wouldn't auto- scroll the list for you when you hovered over the bottom/top???
What appears by the sidebar is the bookmark menu. So nothing in the image is missing when I took the image. But that menu shouldn't be there. I think the bookmark menu should look like Netscape 4.x. That way more bookmarks are seen. The bookmark menu now looks like Internet Explorer. Netscape 4.x had a really good bookmark menu because I saw all my bookmarks, but now I have to import all of them and most of them don't appear. I think this would fix many bugs.
I am going to mark this INVALID because its a RFE. Reporter if you feel that strongly about it file a Request for Enanchement (or however you spell it) bug and we will pass it along. In the mean time I am closing this.

One last thing. This menu appears off screen by the sidebar. Look very closely. So if you goto Bookmarks at the top, then goto Imported Bookmarks, you'll see something by the sidebar. It appears to be the menu, but I can't see anything except the side of the menu. I don't think this is an enhancement. This bug should be fixed. Whatever made this a RFE, I'll file that portion of it as a RFE. I'm reopening the bug because I'm using the latest build(2000121904)and I still see it.

The bug can only be seen using the modern theme.
Ok.. yes, I think I realise what the reporter means.. at the far left of the picture is the faintest edge of a menu... sorry reporter, we couldn't see this. Could you please post some more screenshots, of a different skin showing the bookmark working correctly.. then perhaps the Mozilla window not at full size, to se if the menu shows up more off the side.. and if you label your screenshots with a red arrow pointing to the bit you mean we'll better be able to comprehend. Thanks for bearing with us.

With 2001010220 Win98 I am seeing this problem. Bookmarks->Imported IE Favourites->"Blah" Any of the folders in the "Blah" position all appear as Mike's screenshots show, i.e. off to the left of the screen (doing it's best to not appear over the Mozilla window) and almost unusable.

I'm using build 2001012108. It's not just the imported bookmarks that appear in the wrong place. It's also the links in the folder called Media. And whenever I restore the window so it's not maximized, Channels also appear where the bookmarks appear, and that's on the left side of the screen.
I've also seen this bug with classic theme, build 2001020820 win95. I've noticed it only occurs with bookmarks of "real" folders like file-folders (the imported IE favorites) or ftp-folders (like the folders in the nightly-dir).

this is a dup of bug 61662 and/or bug 62525. Bug 61662 has a patch, could you please apply the patch to your build and see if it fixes your problem? If yes, could you please comment in that bug? Thank you alot!
Whiteboard: DUPEME
Why would this be a dup? Those other bugs were reported after this bug was reported. How would I apply the patch to my build?
If you don't build Mozilla then you can't test the patch unfortunately. A general rule for QA's is that the bug that is the most advanced in resolution (has a patch, is assigned, etc) is the most important one. However this should not be marked as dup until some menu guru looks at it :-) Clearing whiteboard.
Whiteboard: DUPEME
In general, newer bugs get duped on older bugs. These two bugs (this bug and bug 61662) were filed not too far apart from each other (judging by number). For whatever reason that got the right eyeballs and became understood and fixed. So like Fabian said b/c that one is so much more advanced, it takes precedent. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 61662 ***
