User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu; rv:1.9.1.13) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.5.13
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu; rv:1.9.2.9) Gecko/20100915 Thunderbird/3.1.4
I had no space at all on the winchester (0b on the drive) and the Thunderbird could not download my new messages. After deleting other files and I tried to download the new messages, the program downloaded a lots of already downloaded messages, making a second copy of them with the exact date of the first one.
The messages had been downloaded in randomly in time, sometimes a few weeks back, sometimes a few months. The last time, it downloaded roughly 7000 (seven thousands) emails again.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy files on the drive which stores the messages.
2. Try to download new ones.
3. Delete the files what have been copied in step 1.
4. Try to download new messages again.
Actual Results:
It should download some already downloaded messages again.
Expected Results:
Not to try download any messages when there is no space on the hard-drive and in that case the content of the file, which contains what messages have been downloaded, will not be lost.
This bug actually happened in the previous versions of the Thunderbird. I tried avoid having no space on my drive at all.

I use the option of deleting a message from the Thunderbird results deleting it from the server as well. When I have the same message twice or more, it does not matter which one is deleted from the Thunderbird, the server one is deleted too.

Summary: After having no space on the winchester and making some, lots of messages downloaded again → After having no space on the winchester and making some, lots of messages downloaded again *duplicates)
I am using pop and I have the same problem (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; ru; rv:1.9.1.16) Gecko/20101125 SUSE/3.0.11 Thunderbird/3.0.11). It is a very annoying bug. I do not want delete my messages from the server because I sometimes have to get my messages twice when using another computer.
