Can log onto banking pages at CIBC (bank) and check account balances, etc.
However, when I hit the "back" button I get an error saying the MIME type
text/html of the document I have requested is not known and am asked if I would
like to open the doc with another program or save it. The SSL protected pages
have the extension .html and work fine when moving forward. I checked the page
source and could not find any tag setting the mime type explicitely.

reporter, what build are you using? I can't reproduce this problem at any

OK. with build 2000-11-22-04 I now get a different error. The banking
application has a sequential page view that allows one to spin through past
transactions a week or so at a time. Now when clicking on the app's back button
or the browser back button I get an error saying that the page I am requesting
to go to belongs to a previous part of my transaction history or something like
that. If I click on "OK" the app sends me back to the start page of the history
app. The message box appears to be generated by the app. I no longer get the
browser generated mime-type message. There are a few problems in my explaining
this problem. First, I am describing a situation that is difficult to reproduce
since it involves a secure banking application. Second, I have not had time to
take a look at exactly what is happening with the Javascript on the page I am
viewing. I could try to rectify this over the next few days and provide more
information. Sorry for not doing that already, but I am at a bit of a crossroads
in my work right now. I would be happy to look for any specific information
related to this problem. I am very happy to be able to participate in this
process and am eager to carry my own weight as far as I can.

Reporter: the back nonsense is currently being entirely rewritten. I'll mark
this as blocked by it and you can check back later. We're sorry for the
inconvenience.

reporter: Can you provide the exact wording of the dialog that you see and the
exact steps of reproduction. From your previous description, it is not clear
what the problem is. Thanks,

I had been able to use my bank's online banking service for a while now, but
cannot now. They have revamped the site and now use JavaScript on form
submission. There seems to be a but in it that does not allow me to use the
service with Mozilla. I will try to resolve this with them and let you know what
happens after that. I had not had the mime type confusion for a while previous
to this problem. Let me know if you have any further questions. I generally have
more time nowadays.

added imarsman to bug 55055, in case this gets duped.
Over to alecf.
This bug is starving w/o a test case that isn't a personal
bank account, dup of 55055? Not sure how to proceed.

I'm running Mozilla 0.9.1 under RedHat 7.1 with the 2.4.3 kernel.
When I use the TIAA-CREF website for secure access to my account, everything
goes fine except when I try to view my accumulation. This is created by
some application on their web site from their database, but it should just
be an html document. But, Mozilla can't figure that out and gives me the
usual dialog box. If I choose to view it with mozilla, then it shows it
without a problem. Everything else accessible from the secure access works
fine, and I can't see any difference between this particular link and the
others. And I haven't ever had any problem with this using Netscape
up to and including 4.77. I haven't tried Netscape 6.1.
Here is some of the information provided in the save or ... dialog box.
