Rob/David, would it cause problems if we landed this directly on m-c?

James, if you load http://www2.webkit.org/perf/sunspider-0.9/sunspider.html or http://krakenbenchmark.mozilla.com/index.html with today's nightly build or 4.0 beta1, you should see intermittent bad behavior: crashes, hangs. With the first nightly including this patch, they should go away.

Thanks Chris; I can confirm problems on both sites with beta 1, and I will test the next nightly.
