With certain email account whose messages are not contained into the "Local Folders", when you send a message it appears into the "Sent" folder, but always with the attachment mark, even if it has no attached files. This mark disappears when you click on the message (except if the message does have attached files).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Don't know how to reproduce it, because it just happens with one certain account. Just send any mail without attachment with that account.
The special aspects are that mail is not into the local folders, outgoing server is called "mail.iaa.es", by port 25, with no connection security, neither an identification method. The theme is the default one, but I think it happened with othe themes also. Other account also out of the local folder does not suffer this problem, its only difference with the former case (as far as I can see) being that the outgoing server (smtp.live.com) needs an identification with an insecurely transmitted password. Other two accounts into the local folders, with servers smtp.live.com and smtp.telefonica.net, and with the same characteristics as this last account (including an identification with an insecurely transmitted password), neither present the problem. So maybe it comes from the identification method issue. Another special thing might be that the problematic account is the one of my working place, where I am also sending the emails from.

So accounts are imap accounts ?
Does this also happens in -safe-mode (http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode) ?

Account with the problem uses POP3 and SMTP protocols.
It also happens in safe-mode.

If you rebuild the folder using Properties -> rebuild does that fixes the issue ?

Luis Cortés Barbado, can you attach mail? (save as .EML, attach the .EML file to this bug, not paste)
As Tb doesn't check whole mail data upon initial showing at Thread pane, phenomenon of "paper clip icon disappears by mail click" can happen in next case.
Mail is multipart/mixed, but only one text/* part for mail body is contained.
Paper clip icon is initially shown because multipart/mixed mail, but it is cleared by Tb because Tb knows "no attachment part in multipart/mixed" upon mail display.
"Paper clip icon based on mail header only instead of parts in multipart/*" is for performance reason of initial display at thread pane.
It's known issue, and improvement is already requested.
Similar phenomenon may occur on special part in multipart/mixed mail, such as digital signature part, vcard part. Some of them are not shown as attachment because they should always be shown in inline or should be used internally, then Tb may clear clip icon in such case.

Far from solving it, attachment symbols appear once again in nearly all of the messages, having attached files or not.

I have just realized that maybe the problem comes from the vCard file attached. I don't have an vCard in any other account.

"clip icon when multipart/mixed with Vcard part upon initial display at thread pane, until first mail click" is same as phenomenon on "multipart/mixed with single text/* part only in it", which is alreay known issue.
Bug 564423 is relevant to "show Vcard part as attachment or not".
Bug 436555 is for improvement of "attachment pane display" of such part.

So shall I put this bug as RESOLVED, or how can I "close it as INVALID"? Anyway, I think there shoud be a consistent criteria to put the attachment mark or not when there is just an vCard or a multipart/mixed mail, and not just left it to appear at first and hide when click.

we use multipart-mixed header at header download time to approximate whether there's an attachment. Then, when the whole message is run through the mime parser, we figure out for real whether there's an attachment. Gloda could be helpful here, since I think gloda has a much better idea of whether a message has an attachment or not when it indexes a message.

I believe that "Closing your report as INVALID" is inproper action, because issue of "clip icon at thread pane is based on main multipart/* header only, and it produces vanish of paper click icon upon click of a mail" is already known issue.
For user's convenience, I believe that "paper clip icon at thread pane" should be consistent between "mail is not viewed yet" state and "mail is already viewed" state.
