(Whiteboard: [fixed by updating the driver])
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101102 Firefox/4.0b8pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101102 Firefox/4.0b8pre
I had been using Minefield and it randomly halts with the screen going black for a few second with it then reappearing with Windows 7 telling me that the NVIDIA kernel had crashed. The open browsing windows will be unresponsive for a few more seconds and will eventually return to the state before the halt.
(This had also happens to me in one of the previous betas so please fix it soon)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
(This problem probably only is present on computers with NVIDIA GPUs with Aero enabled)
1. Browse around for a while until the screen goes black (it is quite random)
Actual Results:
(This problem probably only is present on computers with NVIDIA GPUs with Aero enabled)
1. Browsing session is halted
2. Screen goes black
3. Resumes back
4. Windows 7 says that the NVIDIA kernal crashed and recovered
5. Session remains halted
6. Session resumes normally
Expected Results:
This should not happen at all. In the stable version of Firefox (version 3.1), all the browsing windows will become as if the user changed the Windows Aero setting to do Basic.

Please update your driver. This is of course a bug in the nvidia driver that got fixed with the newest driver on my system with a 310M.
From where do you got the idea that a crashing display driver is not a bug in the driver ?

Yes, I think it may be that. My driver was not totally up to date. Apparently my version number was 258.96 and the most up to date was 260.99. My bad! I should have thought about that before. I will install the update and see how it goes.
