Build Identifier: TBird 3.1.6 crashes on startup on Mac OS X 10.6.4
Tbird crashed. I didn't think much of it and restarted without checking the traceback. Crashed on restart (repeatedly). Rebooted to make sure not a Mac OS problem. Still crashes repeatedly. Web search indicates at least a few others are having this problem, but I didn't see it in the bugzilla database (I haven't really mastered searching the database, but since I can't read email except on my phone I really would like to get this fixed).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start up Thunderbird
2. Tried starting via shell, same result
3.
Actual Results:
Crash report, claims it is sending to Apple, but no indication it is sending a report to Mozilla.
See stack trace in attachment.

David can you start Thunderbird 3.1.7pre's from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.2/ ?
Keywords: crash
Whiteboard: dupme?
Just tried the latest 3.1.7pre and it dies immediately as before. See attached stack trace.
BTW. This is actually on a different profile than the stack trace above. I worked around the original problem by creating a new profile and synching to Imap. However, the same (or at least very similar) problem happened again today, resulting in this new profile getting corrupted. I guess I will create a new profile again. Is there a profile backup I should be using to make this easier?

if v3.1.7pre didn't fix your crash, does deleting a folder index help?
