Removing those icons was a usability loss in my opinion. I could go a few pages back but selecting the correct one using arrows. now I need to go back page by page.

And I would also suggest to look at comment 33 on this one https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=582485- this actually is a useful feature ,removing to save a few pixels will in fact make harder to retrieve a specific page.
