Whilst undertaking testing for 3.2 using the 3.2 alpha build incoming mails which are normally moved using rules did not survive the move.
On some of the mails a list entry would appear, but be unable to display the body of the email.
Compacting and using the 'repair' button would result in the email disappearing from the list never to be seen again.
As a side effect of this one mail that I am aware of in the main inbox shows the correct title, but the body of a related mail. From this I would have assumed that the whole file was in a corrupt state, except that after reverting to 3.1.4 this and only this email displays the incorrect content and all function has returned to normal with email and filters functioning as expected.
What further information is required?

Do you set mailnews.downloadToTempFile=true? (Qurantine option)
If yes, are you talking phenomenon/problem of Bug 582918 or Bug 571693?
I think you are absolutely correct. Bug 582918 exactly describes the issue and the mailnews setting was as described.
