Steps to Reproduce
---------------------------------------
1. have two diffrent groups in panorama with multiple tabs in each
2. go down to the windows task bar and mouse over all the open tabs you have
3. look back at your firefox window, all your tabs will be back in one window, however if you go back to panorama and click on one tab from one group, the problem it resets itself and the tabs go back to their groups
What should have happened:
---------------------------------------
the panoramas should have stayed split on the main firefox window, not all on one window
What actually happened:
----------------------------------------
the panorama tabs all merged back into one window

this is a screen shot of what the browser looks like after the windows 7 task bar "tabs" mouse over occurs, as you can see, all the tabs that were originally in my panorama are now in one window

another thing i just discovered, is if you click new tab, the new tab appears and the tabs that aren't supposed to be there disappear back into their groups

Do you have any other STR? I can't get Minefield to reproduce your outcome, and this looks like something we'll want to investigate

STR??? I've done a little more digging and it appears that once i change my windows 7 theme to a non aero theme, the issue doesn't happen, im thinking it has something to do with the "aero tab peek/preview" as well as with "browser.taskbar.previews" string

STR... Does that mean "Steps to Reproduce?"
I am able to reproduce it fairly easily with a fresh profile and just two tab groups. I had 2 tabs in one group and 1 tab in the other, but I imagine it would show the undesired behavior with just one tab in each group.
- The fresh profile had two tabs open to start with.
- I went to panorama to start a new group and new tab. The tab bar now shows only one tab (the new one), as expected.
- I went to google.com just to have something in there other than a blank.
- I went to options to turn on tab previews. As expected, the 1 tab from the 2nd group (google) is still selected and its content is in the content area.
- I clicked on the "Nightly" icon in my task bar and all three tab previews became visible.
- I moved my mouse over the first tab preview (first tab from first tab group):
At this point, the content area changes, as expected, to the content from the first tab. On my tab bar, though, which had only shown one tab before (the only tab in the second tab group, or # 3) now shows two tabs (#1 and #3). That is, the first tab from the first group, whose preview is under the mouse (as expected), but the second tab shows the title from my tab in second tab group.
- Next, I hover my mouse over the second tab preview
It's basically the same undesired result - another tab is added to the tab bar, so we see three tabs from two different groups now.
- I click on the 2nd tab preview (1st would give a bad result too)
No additional undesired result, but all three tabs are still shown, so we have tabs from two groups in the bar at once.
- I can get things back to normal by clicking any different tab in the tab bar. All the tabs that are not in the same group will disappear from the tab bar.
This can get pretty confusing when you have a lot of tabs open, and I really have come to dread having to pick out a tab from the taskbar previews.

I might not have chosen my words carefully enough - I want to be clear that I get the same strange effect in the tab bar, whether previews are shown or not. That is, when the aero peek / taskbar preview area is only a list of tab titles.

Panorama has been removed from Firefox 45, currently in Beta and scheduled for release on March 7th. As such, I'm closing all existing Panorama bugs.
If you are still using Panorama, you will see a deprecation message in Firefox 44, and when 45 is released your tab group data will be migrated to bookmarks, with a folder for each group. There are also a few addons offering similar functionality.
See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal for more info.
We're removing Panorama because it has extremely low usage (about 0.01% of users), and has a large number of bugs and usability issues. The cost of fixing all those issues is far too high to justify, and so we'll instead be focusing our time and energy on improving other parts of Firefox.
