I simply tried to create a subfolder in the Inbox file tree view with the name "aux". Thunderbird freezes.I tried to repeat the operation in different points of the file tree and I got exactly the same behaviour. I repeated the operation in another PC with the same version of Thunderbird and I got the same thing.

iirc, the summary of the duplicate bug mentions "con" or special names.  aux is one of those special file names in windows.
