Details
Build ID:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101206 Firefox/4.0b8pre
Steps:
1. Make sure you have some tabs opened
2. Enter panorama view
3. Create a few new groups, but leave them empty
4. Exit panorama mode
Behavior:
Empty groups should be deleted when exiting panorama. There is no sense in remembering them because of the following scenario:
* having a group with multiple tabs in it
* extracting step by step all of the tabs out from that given group
* on extraction, the group is automatically removed
Is either we remember the group in both situations, or remove it.

Getting an empty group requires a fairly specific user action: click and drag in an empty space. Because of that, I am not in favor of closing empty groups when you exit Panorama. I think the user could easily be interrupting their work flow to go check something, and even if they weren't, their short-term spatial memory would tell them that something was amiss.
I would be in favor of killing empty, unnamed groups when on browser quit, however.
Assigning to Aza for design.

In agreement with Kevin. Don't change things the user doesn't explicitly see or ask for. Killing empty groups is reasonable on browser quit, but not worth the implementation cost.
