619579 - can't expand vertical splitters from a collapsed a pane

with 20101215 trunk I can't expand vertical splitters that have collapsed a pane. I first encountered this using bug 609245, but then also found it happens when collapsing folder pane of the main UI.  If I go back to a prior build like 20101130 it works.

I'm speculatively tagging andreasn to look at this.

I've also encountered this problem. A patch for this problem is included in Bug 618467

Can you tell me how to expand the splitter? I still see the ugly 1px splitter everywhere and when I collapsed the one in addressbook I can't grasp it anywhere.

hmm, it seems not so good if 3pane is not maximized.  perhaps bug 618467  did not go far enough and we should reopen this bug?

maximized or not, the splitter isn't visible.  but if pane is maximized it the folder list is easily reopened by dragging - because the left margin of the window is not going to move.  Not so when window is not maximized, you must hover over the left margin/move mouse until some shadow of a <whatever it is> appears, then click and drag.

address book has bug 609245, which provided a stopgap of View | Layout | directory pane.

Ah I see, the 3pane main window behaves better, it has that "shadow" to drag.
But in addressbook there is nothing. I had to reopen the left pane via editing localstore.rdf :) In TB 8.
